Oil change:

Q: How often should I get the oil changed in my vehicle?
A: It's recommended for every 3000 miles, or as recommended in your vehicle's owner's manual. Here at CR Automotive, oil changes always come with a filter replacement, and perform several check points such as tire and brake inspections. Dirty filters can sometimes increase the amount of fuel your vehicle uses by as much as 10%.

Check engine light:

Q: What should I do with a check engine light on?
A: Listen, observe what your vehicle is experiencing after the light turned on. It may be useful information when you bring it to your mechanic to have him/her troubleshoot for problems. Do not simply ignore it, and hope it will just go away. Severe damages may have been done already by the time you realize it.

Rotate tire:

Q: How often should I rotate my tires on the vehicle?
A: We recommend every other oil change. Or, as needed depending on the condition of the tires.

Wheel alignment
:

Q: When do I need a wheel alignment to my vehicle? Is that important?
A: We recommend once every year, and especially when your vehicle pulls to one side while driven on the road. It really prevents premature wear and tear, makes your tires last longer.

Timing belt replacement:

Q: Is it necessary to replace my timing belt at the recommended interval?
A: Yes. The failure of a timing belt in a vehicle can result in major engine damage. The cost of repairing an engine with a broken belt is much greater than the cost of a timing belt replacement.

My vehicle is overheating.

Q: What should I do when my car starts to overheat?
A: This is a very serious problem - when your vehicle overheats for too long, you can damage your engine. As soon as possible, find a safe place to pull off the road and shut off the engine. Do not attempt to check the fluid level in the radiator; the hot fluid can cause severe burns. The best thing to do is to have your car towed to the nearest auto repair facility, or your own mechanic's.

AAA Members' benefits:

Q: I'm a AAA member for years. What are my benefits here?

Q: Should I consider using synthetic motor oil in my vehicle?

A: Synthetic motor oils can be a good choice for high output, turbo charged or super charged engines. Or, for vehicles that are used for towing (especially during hot weather), and vehicles that operate in extremely cold or hot climates. Although the synthetic motor oils are more expensive, they can improve fuel economy and provide longer intervals between changes.

Replacement of fuel filter:

Q: When should I replace my car's fuel filter?

A: To help ensure dependable, trouble-free performance, the replacement of the fuel filter happens approximately every 30,000 miles or as recommended in your vehicle's owner's manual.

Replacement of spark plugs:

Q: When should I change the spark plugs in my vehicle?

A: For maximum fuel economy and peak engine performance, the spark plugs should be replaced every 30 months or 30,000 miles, unless your vehicle is equipped with 100,000-mile platinum tipped spark plugs.

Replacement of burned-out fuses:

Q: I need to replace a burned out fuse, what should I do?

A: Always replace the fuses with the ones of the same amperage (printed on the fuse). If a fuse continues to "blow", you should have the circuit checked professionally by one of our technicians for defects.
